For faulty Microsoft business devices, users can request for replacements through Return Material Authorization (RMA) process. This article includes RMA procedures for Microsoft business devices.

Step 1: Preparation

Prepare the following information before contacting Microsoft for Business.

  • Faulty device's serial number
  • Shipment location for replacement device and return label

Step 2: Call Microsoft

The most efficient way to process service requests is to directly speak with a representative. It is not recommended going through Microsoft’s online support guide at this time as that process may not lead to direct results.

Step 3: Return Faulty Device

Return the faulty device within 15 days of receipt.

Shipment Preparation

  • Backup any data from the faulty device to an external drive or on the network
  • Only return the faulty device
  • Do not include extra accessories (type cover, external mouse, power supply)
  • Remove SD cards
  • Wrap the faulty device in bubble wrap, newspaper, or other recyclable packing material. Do not use clothing.
  • Fit the faulty device snugly in the box to reduce shipping damage
  • Seal the box with packing tape
  • Attach the return label and write the return address on the box
  • Keep the shipping receipt
